Aston Martin Tour
I’m sure a lot of people would love a day off school, especially on a Friday.
Fortunately, for a few Race League drivers from Brentwood Karting, a day off school was exactly what they got. But rather than playing racing games on the Xbox, our drivers got up close to the real things as they were treated to a VIP tour of the Aston Martin headquarters in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
Brentwood Karting Cadet Champions Jack Williamson and Kye Kinch raced as teammates in October in the Aston Martin Team Endurance, which was held here at Brentwood Karting.
Their reward for a fantastic win, taking the lead in the final 4 minutes, was this awesome tour of Aston Martin.
Joining Jack and Kye was Brentwood Karting’s latest AllStar Cup Champion, James Rose; the Aston Martin tour was his reward for winning the competition.
Our drivers were treated to VIP access to the Aston Martin production line, including all the steps required to build these fantastic cars from just pictures on a piece of paper to the fully completed car, and the very first start up of the latest V8 engined twin-turbocharged 2019 Aston Martin Vantage.
Highlights from the tour included bumping into creative officer and Aston Martin designer Marek Reichman, Aston Martin chairman Andy Palmer and the brand new 2.5 million pound Aston Martin Valkyrie, which was designed by F1 guru designer Adrian Newey.
Our drivers also visited the Aston Martin “Hall Of Fame” and took a look around some of the World’s most expensive and well known Aston Martins, from their first ever car and 1913 inception with Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, onto their first venture into motorsport in the 1922 French Grand Prix, all the way to their modern day designs.
Thanks again to Jackie Irwin and Aston Martin for your continued support of the Brentwood Karting Race League.
