Firstly, apologies for the lateness of this blog, However due to Graham Brunton laying the seed on Facebook and the following barrage or “Oi, where’s the blog”It looks like I have no choice but to write one.
I wasn’t going to write a blog this week due to lack of time, why? Well…
Unfortunately our government believe it right that schools are allowed such privileges as “Half Term” schools then refuse the child’s entry for a week, due to this unfortunate circumstance many of these children to decide to come karting, unlike the majority of you that take the time to read this blog that take part in the Race League the children that visit during this event called “Half Term” are not blessed with the same karting ability, instead their ability is to mimic the actions of a bag of marbles thrown down on laminate flooring.
“Disperse and hide young marbles, you are free”
Mine and the marshals position here is to then act like the Hungry Hungry Hippos and retrieve these “Marbles” with the usually Brentwood smile.
All Fun and Games
Anyway, back to the blog.
Lack of time this week, due to Half Term will see a reduced blog as I will focus on the A Final.
Full of smiles, Jack Goldsmith took his marks on pole position after a double win in the qualifying heats.
Last season’s Cadet Champion Harley Carleton was back and keen to continue Brentwood winning ways, he lines up 2nd ahead of standout performer “BootLegging” Beau Sullivan
(That nickname is sticking). With Mike Carleton videoing every moment I can’t make up what I didn’t see, currently when I do I receive a telling off from Stevie-Lee! That’s Beaus mum to you and I.
Telling Off! Surly not….. Here is last week’s telling off
“You Need to watch these races. Beau made some great moves and lead the first race all the way to the last lap”
Jacks lead last less than an inch as Harley Carleton engaged “Pack-Man Mode” and stole it before the first corner.
Flash was the next one to give Jack a slapping as he filled 2nd!
Damn you Cadets!
“After You Sir” Harley was feeling generous and simply gave his rivals the preferred line!
Jack retakes the lead and now Ollie is 2nd, Harley isn’t out of danger yet as the always rapid Fraser Brunton snapping at his exhaust pipe after starting from 9th! Where did he come from!
Always keen to get himself involved Jack Adams, was getting himself involved rolling up his sleeves and being the highest placed senior other than our race leader, Adams is battering Bootlegging Beau for 5th (didn’t miss that did I Stevie ;))
“Im spinning around, Move outta my way, I know you’re feeling me cus you like it like this”
Kylie Minogue there with her number 1 hit!
Basically…….Three into one don’t fit! Jack Williamson, Beau and the now the struggling Harley Carleton found this out the very hard way, let’s call it a “Racing Incident” but as a result these three pintsized warriors found themselves…..at the back collecting Callum Brooks in the process, Whoops!
Two Horse Race! Jack Goldsmith has his smile back, not that many of us have seen it, but he leads The Flash, proving their credibility as Cadet and Senior Champion, Fraser is a distant 3rd!
Making an appearance in the blogs are both the Brooks brothers… and breaking news, Ethan is still sitting in his and hasn’t gone for a walk, he’s doing pretty well, slowing pulling clear of Kye Kinch who also gets his first mention in the blog, after an early tussle between these two is Ethan that’s broken free to chase the front pack. Callum has put the early “Racing Incident” behind him and now also has Kye on his radar, if one Brooks, wasn’t bad enough!
“Ahrrrr, Harley, Come Onnn”
Mike Carleton’s words there as Harley…. Bins it! He’s off!
“I think the fresh air has got to him” commentary on point for the Carleton video!
Run, Nathan Run! A quick, well, quick-ish helping hand from Nathan and Harley is underway, although nearly a lap down!
I was watching this race from Swimming Pool Bend, perched on a set of tyres, now doing my best Tiffany Carleton start line impression, I was bouncing!
It’s getting closer, Fraser is Back!
Don’t write him off, like, ever! Fraser is now not snapping on The Flash’s exhaust he’s doing his best effort to bite it off!
Thank You,,,, said Fraser, he through and into 2nd! Warp- Speed Engaged, he’s coming Jack!
Callum Brooks again has a friend! Jack “Jackpot” Williamson has put earlier shenanigans behind him and is now after Callum’s 5th behind them is Beau and Kye who are swapping positions, work together guys let’s get back with the pack!
Still smiling, until he takes his helmet off Is Jack, Chequered flag, Our AllStar Cup Champion is Jack Goldsmith! Fraser Brunton has to settle for 2nd, time wasn’t on his side to catch Jack. Oliver Flashman completes the podium.
That’s another season done and dusted!
Well done all our drivers and parents for being with us this season, Back to normal service blogs next week, any complains about the shortness of this blog, please speak to local councils about the possibility of banning half terms.
