Scott Malvern began car racing in 2009 having spent a year working for multiple Formula Ford Champions Jamun racing as a mechanic and previously having had considerable success in karting which he began as an 8 year old in 1998. Scott had immediate success Formula Ford winning the BRSCC National Championship in his first season as well as the prestigious Jackie Stewart Golden Helmet Trophy driving for the Irish based Cliff Dempsey Racing Team.

Scott remained with Cliff Dempsey in 2010 stepping up to the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain where his former employer Jamun racing had dominated since 2005. Scott put in an inspired performance in the British built Ray chassis taking the championship battle to the final round but eventually finishing as a runner up in a close fought battle. Nevertheless his performance bought him to the attention of the BRDC (British racing Drivers Club) who inducted him onto their Young Rising Star scheme and he received a nomination to the highly prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC young Driver Award.

For 2010 Scott returned to Jamun Racing but this time as a driver and has achieved resounding success taking 17 wins to date from 20 race starts, winning all four Euro Cup events outright and is the current leader of the Dunlop MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.

In 2009 Scott was touched by an appeal in his local newspaper by Children’s Hospice Haven House suffering from a shortfall in funding. He pledged to use his motor racing activity as a means for raising awareness of their plight and also organised a karting event at the Brentwood Raceway circuit where he had begun his own karting career as a cadet club member. The event proved so popular with all who participated that it has now become an annual fixture in Scott’s motorsport activity and he very much looks forward to welcoming previous and new participants this year.

An evening of racing fun for a very good & worthy cause. A practice and qualifying session will be followed by a 2 hour endurance team event. Teams can consist of 2, 3 or 4 drivers. Entry fee per team is £150 with all profits going directly to Haven House.
