The clocks have changed. Arrrr An extra hour in bed, well, for most people anyway. Its AllStar Cup day, time for an early start, I wasn’t alone, on arrival I was greeted by the returning Ivan Lomliev who was already prepped and walking the track by 8am! #Keen
53 drivers all ready to go and thick fog fills the air, looks like I need something a little stronger than a Milkshake from the Deacon household today.
Jack Goldsmith was like Pacman on steroids! 2 wins from 2 resulted in Jack comfortably cushioning himself straight into pole position for the A Final.
Harry Fleming kept him honest in race one with a strong 2nd place, Rogerio Mendes to fill 3rd.
New Senior Champion Adam Harding played bridesmaid to Jack’s victory in race two, unlike the championship J The man with many names Oliver Moo-Jew-Jew filled a comfortable 3rd.
Harley Carleton hit all the right notes as he claimed victory in race one for Group B. Rio Leconte hasn’t lost any of his speed he took 2nd. Oliver Upton turned a few heads after an impressive drive to finish 3rd. The always improving Beau Sullivan recorded a great victory in race two ensuring Harley had to settle for 2nd ahead of Joshua Patrick.
Ethan Brooks followed Jenson Murchison all the way to the finish line, before passing him to win race one in Group C. You can never count out Alfie Wratten he crossed the line to finish .
Jenson bounced back with a win in race two, A fantastic driver… From the back of the grid!!
Georgie Anker just missed out on a place on the grid in the A Final, he filled 2nd. Ethan Brooks however did secure a place in the A Final who took 3rd.
The always impressive Fraser Brunton took the win in Group D race one. Double World champion and Ginetta Scholarship finalist (to name a few honours) Matt Luff had to be happy with a strong 2nd place finish ahead of Mr Flashman. A great race for race one where any of the top three drivers could have won.
‘Pocket Rocket’ Jack Williamson was the surprise winner in race two, Group D “The Group Of Death” apparently, this group was the hardest! Flashers and Fraser again collected great result and a place in the A Final with 2nd and 3rd. A quick shout out for Mason Murray how collected points in his first ever race.
After the heats, we moved onto the finals, Final wins went to Vinny Lloyd, Harvey Roffe, Beau Sullivan and Adam Harding who claimed the final place on the grid for the AllStar Cup Final.
The AllStar Cup Final was always going to be close with over 30 championship titles in different formulas on the grid.
Red! Red! Red! Pause….. Green
Great start from Jack Goldsmith, he holds his position at the front of the field, Multiple Champion Jenson Murchison didn’t have the best start and its Harley Carleton who now holds second.
Matt Luff’s start was equally as impressive as Jack’s he moved up three places with Adam Harding in tow. The brilliant, Harry Fleming is the driver with the bit between his teeth, he is pressuring Harley, Harley looks to pass on the outside, Harry is through and into second!
Four karts into one corner don’t fit, Oliver Flashman was the first driver to find this out the hard way as he chances were destroyed after a meeting with the tyre walls.
Jack Goldsmith is having to performing a defensive master class as first Harley then Harry Fleming and now Harley again and aiming for the all important position.
Fraser Brunton is right in the mix with the leaders, that’s until he’s the next driver to come undone after losing out to Harry Fleming in a one on one, these cadet karts usually come off second best when against a bigger senior kart. A spin across Harry’s nose put Fraser on the grass! Jenson’s drawn the short straw and he’s in for a kart change, his is getting slower and slower.
Harley, Harry and Ethan are the three drivers pressuring our race leader the most, bringing laptimes down to a pedestrian 37.0. Never disregard Matt Luff, he’s going through the field like a hot knife though chocolate spread (cus everyone prefers chocolate spread, right?) Matt claims 2nd and immediately attacks Jack for the race lead.
Jack crosses the line for the final time as our AllStar Cup Champion!
A great drive from Jack leading from lights to flag! Matt Luff has to settle for 2nd with Harley Carlton, Top Cadet and 3rd place.
