12 weeks of competitive action came to an end on Sunday and it was Joshua Pattrick with the biggest smile as he took the Championship by an impressive 49 points.
Let’s start with two of our newer drivers, Oliver Bowen and the impressive Ben Cooke!
An awesome season from these two, both Oliver and Ben missed week 1 of the action and started the competition from round 2.
These two were pretty much inseparable throughout the entire competition as they both flirted just outside the top 5 with Oliver pippin Ben to 6th position, 12 points clear.
Equally as close was the battle between Louis Littley and Aras Majauskis, just 3 points separated these two “half pint sized” warriors with Aras, our newest and youngest driver, coming out on top.
I’m looking forward to seeing what these two can produce in the winter season, we’ll looking forward to a week 2 and 3 repeat performance from Louis after some impressive driving saw him finish the week just off the podium.
Just behind these two was another new recruit, George Donald, just 2 points behind the more experienced Louis was an impressive result.
This season’s “ShoutOut” goes to Miguel Onyekweli, after encouraging him to move up to the Senior Championship before the start of the season, Miguel thought he knew better, and he did!
A great season from Miguel saw him collect 4th overall, not far from a podium, he even managed a week win on week 5 in the pouring rain when we all witnessed a Miguel Masterclass!
We were blessed with several visits from our own notorious duo, Jack Williamson and Beau Sullivan as both returned for several races, Beau actually took part in more than half the season with 7 weeks of racing action and an impressive 5th place finish along with 2 week wins while Jack visited just 4 times, yet still matched Beau’s 2 week wins.
Tairiel Seetal would often have to be found and placed in his kart each race as he was always hiding in the changing rooms or over the golf range, but when he was found and did race, his pace was impressive, he and William Murphy were another duo always found sharing the track and the championship positions.
A strong first season from Jonas Klimas resulted in a great 8th place finish with week 4’s 24 point total being the highlight.
With so many new rapid drivers in the Cadet League i’m already looking forward to the Winter Championship.
Our top three were there throughout the season with Josh taking the early lead and never letting go on his way to the title and 5 week victories from the possible 12.
With Josh as Champion, 2nd place was filled by last season’s star and Champion Ellis Sandford, Another awesome season from Ellis saw him in title contention right up until week 11.
Just 1 week win from Ellis this season on week 3 but a great season overall, I think there is still more in Ellis’ locker. Ellis takes the tile of fastest driver as his rapid lap-time of 35.182 early in the Championship was never surpassed , let’s see what next season brings for Ellis.
Lets not forget an amazing season from Nathan Crowley!
Nathan spent the entire season in a battle with Ellis and 3rd is a great result just behind two former Champions.
It’s Nathans turn next?
